The Challenge

Take on England’s finest countryside at your pace as a walk, jog, or run – and fundraise for your favourite charity! Challenge basecamp is in Kendal, and it’s a 100km looped route with a few tough hills to Ambleside; a halfwaypoint by Lake Windermerewith stunning views enroute, and a huge welcome back at basecamp! Join up to 2,000 adventurersand sign up as an individual or as a team; you’ll get full support all the way, plenty of food & drink, optional camping& transfers, a special medal, T shirt and celebration finish. With 50km half, marathon, quarter & 10kmdistance options also available – there’s a Lake District Challenge for everyone! Push yourself further in 2026, take on an Ultra Challenge – the UK’s No.1 Series of treks & trail challenges.

• Full Challenge (100km) –Kendal to Kendal loop
• 1st Half Challenge (50km) – Kendal to Lakeside, Windermere
• 2nd Half Challenge (50km) – Lakeside, Windermere to Kendal
• 1st Quarter Challenge (29km) – Kendal to Ambleside

Fundraising

You only need to raise half of the fundraising target 3 weeks ahead of the Lake District Challenge to confirm your place - you can then top up the rest during, and after, the challenge!

Charity sponsorship - pay a small registration fee and do lots of fundraising!
Remember you only need to raise half of the fundraising target to confirm your place.

Full Challenge (100km) - £50 registration fee + £575 in fundraising

Half Challenge (50km) - £40 registration fee + £375 in fundraising

Quarter Challenge (29km) - £30 registration fee + £75 in fundraising

10km Challenge - £20 registration fee + £100 in fundraising

Mixed Funding - pay a higher contribution to the cost of your place and fundraise less. 

Full Challenge (100km) - £110 registration fee + £330 in fundraising

Half Challenge (50km) - £75 registration fee + £225 in fundraising

Quarter Challenge (29km) - £50 registration fee + £150 in fundraising

10km Challenge - £22.50 registration fee + £70 in fundraising
