The Challenge

Get your walking shoes on and explore some of the Capital’s less known historic areas with a tour of the ‘gateway to London’ along the Thames’s eastern section – and fundraise for your favourite charity. Starting alongside the grandeur ofWoolwich Barracks (short walk from Elizabeth Line, DLR, & Overground) – there’s a marathonlooped route, which heads into the heart of the Capital – alongside a 25km option taking in Greenwich, and a 10km option if you’re after something a bit shorter! Routes steeped in history with iconic sights, a lively warm up, full support all the way, rest stops with snacks & drinks, and capped with a BBQ meal, bar & music at the finish, making for a wonderful active end of summer celebration! Alzheimer's Society are an official partner on this event, you get a 50% discount on the ‘Full Sponsorship’ registration fee when signing up to support us.

The route

• 50km loop through Woolwich Tunnel, and north along the 'Capital Ring' and 'Greenway' to the Olympic Park
• 25km loop from Woolwich, to Canary Wharf and Cutty Sark, returning through Greenwich
• 10km loop from Woolwich Barracks along to the Thames Barrier,  and through Maryon Wilson Animal Park

Fundraising

You only need to raise half of the fundraising target 3 weeks ahead of the London Summer Walk to confirm your place - you can then top up the rest during, and after, the challenge!

Remember you only need to raise half of the fundraising target to confirm your place. The Reg Fees below are 50% OFF standard fees – as you’ll be fundraising for an official SERIES CHARITY PARTNER 

50km- £40 registration fee + £375 in fundraising

25km- £30 registration fee + £275 in fundraising

10km- £20 registration fee + £100 in fundraising

Mixed Funding - pay a higher contribution to the cost of your place and fundraise less

50km- £75 registration fee + £225 in fundraising

25km- £50 registration fee + £150 in fundraising

10km- £22.50 registration fee + £70 in fundraising
